Last night after a regular breast milk feeding, we gave Evan a few tiny spoonfuls of mushy brown rice cereal. He was definitely startled by the new texture, not knowing quite what to do with it. But he did move his mouth a little and I think swallowed maybe a gram or so, and spit out the rest :) It was his first taste of something other than breast milk. We'll try it again a few more times to see if he likes it. We also got some "1st stage" vegetable purees for him to try later as well. He's sleeping pretty well now after a fussy week a few weeks back. After playing with him till 9 or 9:30pm, we would put him in the crib (with or without a feeding, depending on when he last ate) and in a few minutes, he would fall asleep on his own with little to no fuss at all. Our next objective is to help him sleep through the night without feeding again at 2-3 am.
